The recycling solution for plastics from households

Plastic is not a disposable product

Plastic food packaging has a short lifespan - just 4 to 6 weeks from production to disposal. Plastic is a valuable raw material that should not simply be incinerated. Through targeted collection, sorting and further processing, plastics can be recycled several times. This conserves resources and saves greenhouse gases.

The "Bring Plastic back" collection system offers the opportunity to collect household plastics in chargeable collection bags and thus recycle them. Our aim is to offer nationwide, consumer-friendly plastic collection in Switzerland. We want to close material cycles so that packaging becomes packaging again - from the shelf to the shelf.

Household plastic

There is a lot of potential in collected goods

Household plastics are generally food and household packaging that meet high quality and hygiene requirements and are therefore particularly suitable for material recycling. If these plastics are collected, sorted and processed correctly, they can be recycled two, three, four or more times. If you take a look at the different types of packaging and plastic, you will quickly realize that there is a lot of potential in household plastics! But see for yourself:

Cup (PS)

Many cups such as yogurt, quark or mozzarella cups are made from polystyrene (PS). Polystyrene is ideal for material recycling.

As there is no plastics processor in Switzerland that specializes in PS, the PS products are sent to a plastics processor in southern Germany.

The PS regranulate is used to make crates, pallets, buckets, films or canisters, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Beverage carton (Tetra Pak)

Beverage cartons consist of cardboard (approx. 75 %), polyethylene (approx. 21 %) and aluminum foil (approx. 4 %).

The collected beverage cartons are sorted out in the sorting plant and sent to a specialized company in France or Italy for further processing. There, the beverage cartons are processed so that the recovered cardboard fibers can be used for new packaging made of corrugated cardboard or various recycled papers.

The remaining plastic-aluminum mixture is fed to cement plants as a substitute fuel (RDF) for coal or new products are made from it, such as paper or soap dispensers.

Plastic bottle (HDPE)

Many plastic bottles for milk drinks are made of hard polyethylene (HDPE). This material is ideal for recycling.

HDPE products are processed into regranulate by our sister company InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon TG.

The HDPE regranulate is used to make cable conduits, bottles or crates, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Chip packaging (composite material)

Chip packaging consists of so-called composite materials. The aluminum and plastic layers cannot be separated from each other and are therefore not suitable for material recycling.

Composite materials are fed into cement plants in Switzerland as refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for coal.
One kilo of RDF replaces 1.2 - 1.5 kilos of hard coal or lignite. To the collection bag cycle

Pasta and corn packaging (PP)

Packaging for pasta, corn kernels etc. is produced from polypropylene (PP). The material is ideal for material recycling.

PP products are processed into regranulate by our sister company InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon TG.

The PP regranulate is used to make boxes, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Non-beverage bottle (PET)

Non-beverage bottles such as those for salad dressings, oil and vinegar are usually made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). However, this PET has different properties to PET drinks bottles and therefore does not belong in the PET collection.
PET non-beverage bottles are nevertheless ideal for material recycling and can be collected in the collection bag.

PET products are further processed in Switzerland or southern Germany.

PET regranulate is used to make films or fibers for clothing, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Flower pots (PP)

Flower pots are usually made of polypropylene (PP). This material is ideal for recycling.

PP products are processed into regranulate by our sister company InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon TG.

The PP regranulate is used to make crates, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Tubes (LDPE)

Many tubes for hand cream, toothpaste or sunscreen are made of soft polyethylene (LDPE). This material is ideal for material recycling.

LDPE products are processed into regranulate by our sister company InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon TG.

The LDPE regranulate is used to make cable conduits, bottles and crates, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Plastic bottle (HDPE)

Many so-called hollow containers such as cleaning agent bottles and shampoo bottles are made of hard polyethylene (HDPE). This material is ideal for material recycling.

HDPE products are processed into regranulate by our sister company InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon TG.

The HDPE regranulate is used to make cable conduits, bottles or crates, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Shampoo bottle (PET)

Shampoo bottles are often made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). However, this PET has different properties to PET drinks bottles and therefore does not belong in the PET collection.
PET is nevertheless ideal for material recycling and can be collected in the collection bag.

PET products are further processed in Switzerland or southern Germany.

PET regranulate is used to make films or fibers for clothing, for example. To the collection bag cycle

Films (LDPE)

Many packaging films for food, drinks or magazines are made of soft polyethylene (LDPE). This material is ideal for material recycling.

LDPE products are processed into regranulate by our sister company InnoPlastics AG in Eschlikon TG.

The LDPE regranulate is used to make cable conduits, bottles and crates, for example. To the collection bag cycle

What belongs in the collection bag?

Packaging, bottles, films - plastics are omnipresent in every household and are not disposable products. They should therefore be collected in a collection bag after use and sent for recycling. But what belongs in the collection bag and what doesn't? Detailed answers can be found by taking a look in your shopping cart!
